We are an online service that hosts and indexes user generated content, including but not limited to attorney profile photos, firm logos, descriptions, and reviews.

1) Designated DMCA Agent

If you believe content on our Site infringes your copyright, contact our designated agent:

Name: DMCA Agent, BestLawyersInUnitedStates.com
Email: admin@bestlawyersinunitedstates.com
Preferred Method: Email with “DMCA Notice” in the subject line

We process notices submitted by email. If you need an alternate method, write to us via the Contact Page and we will provide options.

2) What a valid DMCA takedown notice must include

To be effective under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with a URL or enough detail to help us locate it on our Site
  4. Your contact information: name, email address, and a phone number we can reach
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner

Incomplete notices may be delayed or rejected until corrected.

3) How we process a takedown notice

  • We review your notice for completeness
  • If valid, we may remove or disable access to the identified material
  • We may notify the user who posted the content and forward your notice to them
  • Where appropriate, we may terminate repeat infringers under our Terms of Use and Reviews & Community Guidelines
  • We keep records of DMCA notices and removals as part of our compliance

4) Counter notification (restoration request)

If content was removed and you believe it was taken down by mistake or misidentification, the uploader may send a counter notice under 17 U.S.C. §512(g). A valid counter notice must include:

  1. The uploader’s physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that the uploader has a good faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification
  4. The uploader’s name, address, and phone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the uploader’s address, or if outside the U.S., to a court where we are located, and that the uploader will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice

Send counter notices to admin@bestlawyersinunitedstates.com with “DMCA Counter Notice” in the subject line.

Restoration timeline: If we receive a valid counter notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant informs us they have filed a court action to restrain the user from engaging in infringing activity.

5) Repeat infringer policy

In line with §512(i), we may suspend or terminate accounts that are subject to repeated claims of infringement. We also reserve the right to remove content that appears to infringe the rights of others or violates our Reviews & Community Guidelines, whether or not a formal DMCA notice is filed.

6) Submissions by agents and representatives

If you submit a notice as an agent, include documentation that shows you are authorized to act for the copyright owner. Corporate email from an official domain and a clear statement of authority are helpful.

7) Misuse and §512(f) warning

Knowingly submitting false claims of infringement or false counter notices may lead to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, under 17 U.S.C. §512(f). Use the DMCA process responsibly.
